Art Presentation and Opening Night of 'Krapp's Last Tape'
On Thursday 29th April, 3 newly commissioned works were presented by Minister Hanafin in the Gate's new wing. The pieces were by Cian McLoughlin and Makiko Nakamura and were inspired from 'Waiting for Godot' by Samuel Beckett. The evening was followed with an oustanding performance by Michael Gambon in 'Krapp's Last Tape'. .

Tuesday 14 October saw the Gate Theatre, staff and friends celebrate its 80th birthday with the launch of a new edition of Micheál MacLiammóir’s theatrical autobiography, All For Hecuba. David Kelly, the renowned actor who has a long history with the Gate and worked with both MacLiammóir and Edwards, was special guest for the evening and relayed wonderful stories of his earlier years working with the late Gate founders.
