Following the success of the inaugural symposium in 2009, the Gate Theatre, in association with Ulster Bank Dublin Theatre Festival, will hold a second two- day Director's Symposium in the Gate Lab.

This event will allow mid-career directors the valuable opportunity to engage in structured sessions with leading actors, designers, directors, playwrights and producers.

Some of the speakers in 2009 included Conor McPherson, Jeremy Irons, Sinéad Cusack, Penelope Wilton, Declan Donnellan, Owen Roe, Ingrid Craigie and many more.

The success of the Directors' Symposium has been widely recognised both within the Gate and further afield and many of the 2009 participants have formed significant relationships with the Gate.
