Accounts Assistant


The Gate Theatre is recruiting for the position of Accounts Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to work within a small-established team in an organisation, which has a reputation as one of the world’s leading theatres. Applicants must be detail orientated, professionally presented, and highly proficient in computer applications. The ability to remain calm under pressure while being thorough and methodical is desirable. This position will be full-time initially, moving to 30 hour per week after a maximum of 3 months.


Duties include but are not limited to:

Ensure all invoices are approved, coded, and entered in TAS accounting system

Prepare monthly creditors reconciliations

Monthly/ weekly payment runs using Banking on Line

Entering bank payments on TAS

Monthly bank reconciliations on 4 main bank accounts

VAT/ PAYE returns

Post monthly payroll journals

Post and reconcile company credit cards

Balance Sheet Account reconciliations

Monthly positing and reconciliation of Petty Cash

Preparing files for occasional grant claims


The ideal candidate should possess the following

Accounts payable experience working with accounting software systems such as TAS

Excellent interpersonal and communicative skills, both written and verbal
