Come and be inspired

The inaugural World Actors Forum: giving a voice to the actor without a script will take place at the Gate Theatre on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June, 2013. Participants will include Brendan Gleeson, Michael Gambon, Jeremy Irons, Anissa Daoud, Penelope Wilton along with representatives from the USA, the Middle East, Russia and Belarus.  The forum is supported by Minister Jimmy Deenihan T.D. and is an initiative of the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht and the Gate Theatre. It was conceived to celebrate the role of the actor on stage, on screen and in the broader context of our society.

Through a series of inspirational talks, personal addresses, dialogues and Q&As, this weekend-long forum will provide Irish and international actors with a platform to share their experiences and discuss topics such as the nature and development of their craft and work practices in different cultural contexts, as well as non-industry related causes which affect or inspire them.

Leading actors and representatives from theatre, film and television will come to the Gate over the course of the weekend to debate, inform and inspire in a neutral space separate from awards ceremonies, film festivals or press circuits.

The World Actors Forum will make Dublin the champion city of actors. The forum aims to highlight the excellent work that is being done by concerned actors as social philanthropists and acknowledging their potential, not just within the profession, but also as leaders and commentators in our society.

Further details will be announced shortly.
