From Broadway director Danya Taymor comes a stunning revival of Samuel Beckett’s comic-tragic masterpiece Endgame.

Beckett’s classic centres on the fractious relationship between irascible tyrant Hamm (Frankie Boyle) and his boy-servant, Clov (Robert Sheehan). An apocalyptic, nihilistic and darkly funny tale, the play also features Hamm’s parents, Nagg (Seán McGinley) and Nell (Gina Moxley), living in dustbins, tossed aside by an uncaring world.

Although now 65 years since the premiere of its original production, Endgame remains an urgent and strikingly relevant work that speaks to the existential and absurdist challenges of our time.

Please note that entry to the venue will be conditional on the health guidelines at the time of performance and not at the time of ticket purchase. Masks are not required for performances from the 28th of February. Any changes to admission policy will be notified to ticketholders in advance of the performance.

DANYA TAYMOR will make her Gate debut following her recent acclaimed production of Antoinette Chinonye Nwandu’s Pass Over which reopened Broadway.

Also making their Gate debuts as Hamm and Clov are BAFTA-nominated comedian FRANKIE BOYLE, and BAFTA nominee ROBERT SHEEHAN, star of Netflix’s The Umbrella Academy and RTÉ’s Love/Hate.

Returning to the Gate stage are SEÁN MCGINLEY and GINA MOXLEY; Seán recently appeared in Lucy Kirkwood’s The Children, while Gina previously appeared in Lorca’s The House of Bernarda Alba. Seán’s film credits include The Wind That Shakes the Barley, The General, and Man About Dog; Gina’s film credits include The Butcher Boy, Saltwater, and Here Before.
