A POP-UP CHRISTMAS ADVENTURE FOR AGES 6+. ALL TICKETS ARE SOLD ON AN UNRESERVED BASIS. The Gate’s very special layout for the show will include strictly limited bean bags for our younger visitors alongside our standard theatrical seating for both adults and children. Bean bags will be available on a strictly first-come, first-served basis. Please note that all children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
Entry to the Gate and the auditorium will be conditional on the health guidelines at the time of the performance, and not at the time of ticket purchase. All visitors over the age of 13 MUST wear a face mask at all times during their visit. In line with current public health advice, we also recommend that children over 9 wear a mask during their time at the Gate.
Please note that all attendees aged 18 and over will be required to provide relevant proof, in the form of an EU Digital Covid Certificate for example, that they are fully vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 within the previous 6 months. Under 18s who are accompanied by a parent/guardian currently do not require proof of immunity. Unaccompanied attendees aged 12-18 will need to show proof of immunity. Should any member of a larger group arrive without their verification, they will be refused entry to the indoor facilities. Please note that negative PCR or Antigen tests will not be accepted for entry.
Accident prone and instantly lovable, Mabel Mayfly is one of the ‘left behinds’, an elf who never gets to do the good stuff because her curiosity always gets her into trouble. She has discovered a way to make Santa’s sleigh travel 26 times faster around the world, without Rudolph and his other beloved reindeer.
To test her system, Mabel has taken her very own flying machine on a secret test flight and, due to a GPS malfunction, has crashed straight through the roof of the Gate Theatre.
Piece by piece, section by section, Mabel must, with the audience’s help, repair her radio connection, put her machine back together, and find her way home.
After the show, attendees will be receive an email with a link containing a special video message from a Very Important Person.
Mabel’s Magnificent Flying Machine is a beautiful new pop-up Christmas adventure about hope, realising what’s most important in life, and understanding that we are all talented in our own unique ways.
