Covid Health and Safety Protocols

The Gate Theatre is delighted to welcome live audiences, artists, and staff back into the venue for our production of Mabel’s Magnificent Flying Machine this December.

The health and wellbeing of our staff and our visitors is our number one priority and we are making every effort to ensure that appropriate measures are in place. The Gate is committed to maintaining a rigorous health and safety process for those who visit the theatre.

The venue is currently operating at reduced capacity.

  • In line with current Government guidelines, all attendees over the age of 18 will be required to provide relevant proof, in the form of an EU Digital Covid Certificate for example, that they are fully vaccinated or recovered from COVID-19 within the previous 6 months. Under 18s who are accompanied by a parent/guardian do not require proof of immunity. However, unaccompanied guests aged 12-18 will need to provide proof of immunity. Please note that PCR or Antigen tests will not be accepted for entry. All guests over the age of 13 must wear masks throughout their visit to the Gate, including during the performance.
  • The auditorium and front of house area are regularly cleaned and sanitised by our team prior to and between each performance.
  • The high ceiling of the auditorium, our reduced capacity, and full fresh air changes between each 50-minute performance ensure optimum ventilation in our venue.
  • Hand sanitising stations are located throughout the building for the safety of our audiences and staff. We ask that all visitors use them regularly.
  • Floor markings in the building are present to assist our visitors to social distance.
  • All guests are requested to pay using contactless methods where possible,
  • The Gate is required to collect contact details for the purposes of contact tracing. This information will be stored for 28 days and will then be destroyed.
  • Entry to the theatre will be conditional on Government advice at the time of the performance and not at the time of the ticket purchase. Any updates to the details of your performance will be communicated to you via email.

We appreciate the continued support of our audiences at this time. If you have any further questions about our Covid procedures and protocols, please contact boxoffice@gate-theatre.ie.
